Celebrating & Championing
food & drink in the
North West of England

Our first Manchester event a huge success

Mid1

Last night saw the successful launch of Talented Chefs & Hosts North West in the opulent surroundings of The Midland Hotel, Manchester. 50 diners were wowed by the delights prepared by the three young chefs, Lorissa Ellis, Natalie Cattlin and Simon Kehoe, who created a fusion of flavours and tastes to excite the tastebuds.

The meal commenced with a chefs compliment of delicate beetroot risotto topped with a pavé of salmon and a tingling sorbet to set the palette racing. This was closely followed by a ham hock terrine served with a fresh bramley apple puree and lozenges of aniseed flavoured jelly, what a combination!

After a sumptuous main course of the finest Cheshire lamb we were treated to a scrumptious desert of Natalie’s Grandmas treacle tart and zingy black-current sorbet. The meal was rounded off with some of Cheshire’s award winning cheeses, provided by Joseph Heler of Nantwich, followed by the finest coffee courtesy of illy.

The whole evening was kindly supported by The Midland’s General Manager, Paul Bayliss and would not have been so enjoyable without the outstanding service provided by Todor Sapuranov, our featured young host and the front of house team at The Midland. We’d also like to thanks Mark Carr for the fantastic photography.
